Weld French, one of the first American merchants to come to Japan, now rests in a corner, its face warped by heat and colored with rust. - Text transcribed from caption: RECTOR OF TOKYO UNIVERSITY CHAPEL 1424 TOKYO -- Chaplain Takaharu Takamatsu, rector of All Saints Chapel of St. Paul’s University here, was removed from his post during the war, but he conducted Bible classes in his own home. The chapel was desecrated and used as a storehouse for the Japanese Army. He is surrounded by students who now attend his daily chapel services.
