Local broadcast news pieces on demonstrations, VHS 1996. In 1996, warehouse workers at a K-Mart distribution center in Greensboro, N.C., objecting that the overwhelmingly black workforce at that location was paid 40% less than warehouse workers elsewhere, and objecting to K-Mart's union-busting tactics, walked out and led protests and a citywide boycott of the retailer. Nelson Johnson, of Greensboro's Beloved Community Center, and J. Herbert Nelson II advocated for the warehouse workers and joined the demonstrations.
