- Title
- Seoul sentences ex-president, churchmen.
- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: C-45903 SEOUL SENTENCES EX-PRESIDENT, CHURCHMEN SEOUL -- A former South Korean President, a Roman Catholic bishop, two Protestant leaders, and a respected historian were sentenced to prison by a special military court in Seoul for opposing the regime of President Park Chung Hee. The former President, Yun Po-Sun (left), 76, who was accused of having passed funds to students for anti-government demonstrations in April, was given a suspended three-year sentence. The head of the court-martial said the court was “lenient” with Mr. Yun because of his past contribution to the nation as head of state (1960-62). Catholic Bishop Daniel Tji Kak Soun of Won Ju (right), 53, an outspoken critic of the Park regime, was sentenced to 15 years and his “civil rights” were suspended for another 15 years.
