- Doctor's library, Presbyterian Hospital, Taegu, ca. 1950.
- Description
- "Eager young doctors in training make this room one of the most popular, but unfortunately most of the reading material is of ancient vintage. a pressing need is for up-to-date books and magazines to satisfy the demand for information on medical advances of the past decade. Most of the doctors read English fairly well. Dr. Moffett, acting Supt. in the absence of Dr. R.K. Smith who is home on furlough, brushes up on some material for an evening medical class, while Dr. Whong browses by the bookcase. He is Asst. Supt. and Chief of Medicine, a graduate of the Univ. of Pittsburgh Medical School with post-graduate work at Tulaneapos;s School of Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, and with a post-war degree in Public Health from Harvard."

- Leprosarium, Taegu, ca. 1950.
- Description
- "Intravenous Promin Treatments. Every afternoon more than 100 carefully selected patients receive this modern "wonder drug". Patients carry on the entire procedure themselves, for they have been carefully trained. Frequent laboratory check-ups are a necessity with the administration of Promin or Diasone (an oral type of Sulfone) and patients have also been trained to run a small laboratory. The larger facilities of Taeguapos;s Presbyterian Hospital are always available when needed."

- Leprosarium, Taegu, ca. 1950.
- Description
- "All Dressed Up in Their Sunday Best. All of the patients are professing Christians, though many of them became so after their admission. A well-rounded evangelistic and Christian Educational program is carried out under the direction of a full-time pastor. These folks are well clothed and well fed, but not far from the front gate there is a tent and dugout colony of some 900 patients with leprosy who have practically nothing but a little food and occasional medicine which the government provides. There is no heat, and winters are desperately severe. Relief goods and blankets will help tide them through the winter, and the government is planning to build more permanent structures for them in the spring, but the present is bleak and forbidding. Such a contrast to those pictured above. With the advent of sulfone therapy many of these children face a much brighter future than their elders. Even if not "cured", they probably will not suffer disfigurement and such other heretofore common complications as eye trouble and blindness."

- Description
- "Leprosarium Staff. Here are the ones who try to keep the institution ticking along smoothly. The problems are great, and many, but Philippians 4:19 is just as true today as it was in the time of St. Paul: 'My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus.' Praise be to Him who cares for us. Seated: (left to right) Mr. Kim, pastor; Dr. Moffett, Acting Supt.; Mr. Pai, Asst. Supt. Standing: Mr. Kwun, business manager; errand boy; Mr. Pak, agriculturalist; Mr. Choon, office worker; Mr. Chun, mechanic and truck driver; maintenance helper. These are the only people directly connected to the institution who are not patients. Not a single Korean doctor due to natural reluctance, if not fear, of associating with cases of leprosy. Interns and residents from Taegu Presbyterian Hospital do give valuable assistance for a few hours each week."

- "Modern Sulfone Therapy. This man, with the very typical leonine facial characteristics of leprosy, is receiving an intravenous injection of Promin, a new post-war therapeutic agent which is one of the most encouraging advances yet made in the fight against this disease. Chief drawback is the expense of such treatment, as patients must receive almost daily injections over a period of months and years. The man giving the injections is also a patient."
