- Title
- Hilltop retreat.
- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: HILLTOP RETREAT #c-3222 ACOMA, N.M. -- This Mission Church of Acoma rises 400 feet above the plains outside Laguna, N.M., in the Pueblo Reservation. The pueblo is accessible only by a steep trail cut from the rock that rises up in a sheer cliff, the Rock of Acoma. The church was built in the 17th century and materials for its construction were carried up on the backs of Indians. Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (CNP-NY-MES-4B-6-C)
