- Text transcribed from caption: PF-25474 FAMILY REUNION NEW YORK -- Evangelist Billy Graham greets his wife with a kiss after her arrival with their children in New York aboard the liner Queen Elizabeth. Mrs. Graham and the children spent the summer in Switzerland. The famed evangelist returned to New York the night before by plane after a speaking tour of West Germany. He was in the city for a three-day Spanish-American crusade at Madison Square Garden, planned in cooperation with the Protestant Council of the City of New York. Mr. Graham is holding Ned, 2 1/2. - Text transcribed from caption: C-31625 NUN AUDITOR IN MISSION FIELD Mother Mary Luke, superior general of the Sisters of Loretto, is shown during a visit to a mission school in Bolivia in 1960. She is one of 15 women named by Pope Paul VI to serv as auditors (listeners) at the third session of the Second Vatican Council. Mother Mary Luke is also head of the Conference of Major Religious Superiors of Women's Institutes of America. Under her direction, the Sisters of Loretto operate 21 high schools, 76 elementary schools and two colleges in the U.S. and teach at three South American mission fields. - Text transcribed from caption: C-30665 NUN AND LBJ: AN AUTHOR'S MEMENTO NEW YORK -- Shown here with President (then Senator) Johnson in 1960 is Mother Mary Peter Carthy of the Ursuline Sisters, noted scholar and author of the newly published, "Catholicism in English-Speaking Lands." The book is a volume of the Twentieth Century Encyclopedia of Catholicism published by Hawthorne Books, New York. Picture was taken when Mr. Johnson visited Ursuline College of New Rochelle, N.Y., where Mother Mary Peter has an administrative post. The nun, who holds a doctorate in philosophy from the Catholic University of America, is on the editorial staff of The New Catholic Encyclopedia. Her new book describes the dynamic influence exerted today by 61,000,000 Catholics in English-speaking countries on the entire Christian world. Mother Mary Peter is also a member of the American Catholic Historical Society, the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers and the American Association of University Women. - Text transcribed from caption: C-29824 MAKES PERPETUAL VOWS ROME -- Sister Josepha Nangumaia (left), a native New Guinean, was one of seven young women who recently pronounced their final and perpetual vows as Sisters of the Rosary, a new order of religious in New Guinea. She is shown here three years ago on a trip to Rome with Sister Aloisa Imbue (right) and Sister Eurista Lohmanns, a Holy Spirit Missionary, who is co-foundress, novice mistress and superior general of the new order. Founder of the order is Bishop Leo Arkfeld, S.V.D., head of the Wewak vicariate. Sister Josepha was among the seven young women who 12 years ago became the first members of the congregation which now numbers some 30. Their rule, as well as religious garb, is specially adapted to New Guinea conditions. The orderās members specialize in teaching and nursing.
