The girls are the first to be enrolled in a Fordham liberal arts undergraduate college leading to B.A. and B.S. Eventually the Thomas More College expects to provide a special liberal arts program for men not available at the all-male Fordham College. Dean of the new school is Father John W. Donohue. - Text transcribed from caption: C-30725 AT FORDHAM'S EASTERN RITE LITURGY NEW YORK -- Father Andrew Rogosh, assistant secretary of the Catholic Near East Welfare Association (with mitre), preached the sermon at a concelebration of the Divine Liturgy in the Byzantine-Romanian Rite in St. Patrick's Cathedral, held as part of the 26th annual Conference on Eastern Rites and Liturgies. The conference was sponsored by Fordham University. During the Mass, Father Rogosh was blessed as the only priest in this country to be made a Protopresbyter, a distinction in the Byzantine Rite resembling the rank of Protonotary Apostolic in the Roman Rite. Shown at the liturgy are, left to right: Bishop Stephen J. Kocisko of the Passaic, N.J. Byzantine Rite diocese; Bishop Bryan J. - Text transcribed from caption: C-46498 SPORTS STARS LEND A HAND NEW YORK -- George “Doc” Medich, star pitcher for the New York Yankees, signs autographs for youngsters at Fordham University gym during a benefit basketball game to raise money for St. Columba Elementary School in lower Manhattan, which has a deficit of $19,000. Medich, who comes by his nickname naturally -- he’s an M.D., was one of a number of current and former New York sports stars taking part in the game. Among them were Ron Swoboda, a former New York Mets and Yankees outfielder who is now a sportscaster; former Met Art Shamsky; sportscaster Sal Marciano, and former New York Giants’ halfback Tucker Frederickson.
