- Text transcribed from caption: C-31518 'EASY AS DRIVING A CAR' OXFORD, Mich. -- Sister Helen Ann, O.P., clears a 200-acre field for parking on the motherhouse grounds of the Dominican Sisters of Oxford, Mich. In winter, the nuns use their tractor as a snow plow. Sister Helen Ann, who not only drives but services the tractor, says running it is as easy as driving a car: "All you have to remember is not to shift while the tractor is in motion." Donning an apron and using a drill, she prepares to hang drapes in a flat the two nuns have taken on Detroit's east side. Dearden of Detroit (right) discussed the Second Vatican Council at the annual fellowship dinner of the United Church Men of Detroit. He is shown with Francis A. Kornegay, president of the Protestant laymen’s group, a unit of the Metropolitan Detroit Council of Churches. Several Catholic laymen also were invited to the dinner, attended by some 500 persons. In this photo Dr. Philip Feringa examines Michael Rachal, while nurse Irene Parker and Michael’s sister, Constance, look on. The services are given by a volunteer medical and clerical staff.
