Text transcribed from caption: PC-41040. INDIANS DEMONSTRATE AT PLYMOUTH ROCK. PLYMOUTH, Mass. -- An Indian addresses a crowd from the statue of Massasoit, great sachem of the Wampanoags and "protector of the Pilgrims" in 1621 during a Thanksgiving Day demonstration by Indians in Plymouth, Mass. The demonstrators, members of some 25 tribes who are attempting to make Thanksgiving Day a day of national mourning for the American Indian, piled sand on the Plymouth Rock and boarded the Mayflower during their demonstration.
