GUATEMALAN PRESIDENT IS CARDINAL'S GUEST

NEW YORK -- President and Senora Carlos Castillo Armas of Guatemala

are greeted by Francis Cardinal Spellman, Archbishop of New York, at his

residence here where they were guests at a luncheon. Earlier,

Mr. Castillo Armas and his wife attended a Solemn Pontificial Mass in St.

Patrick's Cathedral where the Guatemalan President occupied a seat

of honor in the sanctuary on the epistle side of the altar. Cardinal

Spellman presented the visiting Chief of State with a check for

$10,000 toward the building fund for a new seminary being erected

in Guatemala City by Archbishop Mariano Rossell y Arellano.
