Description:
President John Howard of Lewis and Clark College addresses groundbreaking
ceremonies attended by hundreds of commissioners, for new chapel. Signs
carried by students (rear) complain $600,000 chapel is too costly. At
Assembly session, president emeritus Morgan Odell explained that the new
chapel will cost less than other buildings that have been erected recently on
the suburban Portland campus. [Presbyterian Life, June 15, 1967, p. 39.]
