It then was merged with St. Michael’s and All Angels Church, with Mr. Logan moving his congregation to Calvary in September 1945. Average Sunday attendance now is 250. These youngsters, white and Negro, learn together, with Rector Thomas Logan getting a big smile out of all of them. Mr. Logan, formerly at St. Michael’s and All Angels Church, has raised Calvary from chapel status to that of an independent church. His present congregation is 90 per cent Negro, ten per cent white. Taylor, a graphic designer of Williamsport, Pa., stands beside his painting of the Germantown, Pa., printshop where the famous J. Christopher Saur Bible was printed in 1743. The painting hangs in the library of the Church of Brethren’s Juniata College at Huntingdon, Pa., near a valuable collection of Saur’s works.
