Description:The Restoration Presbyterian Church Seoul was built by refugees from North Korea. They named their church Restoration because of their joy that peace and liberty had been restored to Korea. Houses in foreground are the homes of some of the refugees. Description:Pyongyang Station. Taken in the Swallens' yard the fall or winter of 1923-1924. The Swallen house in the background was one of the early missionary residences in Pyongyang. The Rev. Graham Lee adapted the basic Korean bungalow style to install such comforts as stoves, closets, cupboards, etc. Mr. Lee experimented in this case by building in one second story room. In rear may be seen "Daddy" Swallen's famous Model T Ford in which he and Mrs. Swallen visited rural churches bringing many blessings and great clouds of dust.Subject names:Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. This is a rear view of the compound which faced toward the city of Ch'ungju-si which stretched out on the far side of the ridge which carried the mission residences. Village in foreground is Keum Chun Kol, Gold Stream Village.
