Memorial wreath is laid at base of old stone steps by Lydia Q. Gregory (left) and Lucila O. Ramirez. Steps are all that remains of original farmhouse which housed the Polytechnic Institute fifty years ago. The ashes of the founder, J. Will Harris, and his wife are now interred in the steps.

One of the features of Inter American University's Fiftieth Anniversary celebration was the gathering of the Harris clan. Above (L to R) are Jean Harris Freemont, daughter of Clarence Harris, vice president of the school in its early years; IAU President Ronald C. Bauer; Mrs. Bauer; Helen Harris Artau, daughter of J. Will Harris, found of the school; Guillermo Artau; Rev. Donald Harris; Margaret Stevenson Harris; Cleland Harris. The last three are children of the founder. At the extreme right, Srta. Santoni is not yet a member of the family, but will be soon when she marries the son of Helen Harris Artau.
