Description:
March 1951. No. 1379 (UNRWA 1036). Ain Helweh [Ain al-Hilweh] camp near Saida
[Sidon] in Lebanon. There are 7676 persons living in this camp, 1418 families
who all live in tents. This picture shows a bit of the camp. The woman in the
foreground is washing the ragged, patched trousers of the boy standing near
her is a clear indication of their poverty.
