This Historical Society exists to "stimulate and encourage interest in the collection, preservation, and presentation of the Presbyterian and Reformed heritage in the four state area" of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. It encourages congregations to establish a heritage committee, preserve church records on microfilm or microfiche, celebrate anniversaries by writing histories of their work, and sketches of some of the saints of the church. It is an agency of the Synod of the Sun of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
