Vatican City -- Amid the grandeur of St. Peter's Basilica's main alter, Pope Paul VI addresses a huge congregation at a Mass marking the 1,000th anniversary of Christianity in Poland. Thousands of Polish pilgrims from various parts of the world were gathered in the basilica, along with many church and other dignitaries. Pope Paul criticized as "not justified" the Polish government's refusal to permit a papal visit to millennium observances.

Description:
Web site of the American and Foreign Christian Union (AFCU). This organization exists solely for the purpose of supporting the ministries of the American Church in Paris (ACP), the American Church in Berlin (ACB) and the Vienna Community Church (VCC). The AFCU aids in the selection, employment, and financial support of the ACP Senior Pastor and the oversight of the buildings housing the ACP. It also nurtures alumni support of all three churches. The AFCU manages all endowment funds within charter of a 501(c)(3) organization, approves appropriate grants, and develops expanded financial support.
