Description:In 1888 Joseph Dominick Phillip Oddenino, an Italian immigrant, painted murals in the trompe-l'oeil style to "trick the eye" into believing that his frescoes of Gothic arches, Renaissance styled cornices, and embellished Corinthian columns were three dimensional.
