The Communion vessels used at the General Assembly at the celebration of the Lord's supper on June 10, 1983, are from the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, organized in 1720. The vessels, approximately 200 years old, are representative of those used by Presbyterians in the American colonial period.
