Text transcribed from caption: TRUMAN ASKS GOD’S AID IN WELCOMING UN #4691 FLUSHING, N.Y. -- Although the United Nations General Assembly convened here without formal prayer, President Truman climaxed his welcoming address to the Assembly by beseeching God’s aid in the quest for everlasting peace. “May Almighty God, in his infinite wisdom and mercy, guide us and sustain us as we seek to bring peace everlasting to the world,” said the Chief Executive. “With His help we shall succeed.” The President is shown here addressing the Assembly.
