WENCESLAS For the first time since the German annexation, Prague Catholics staged traditional ceremonies to honor St. Wenceslas, protector of Czechoslovakia. Born in 908, Wenceslas, Duke of Bohemia, promoted the conversion of his country to Christianity, but as slain by his pagan brother Boleslav in 929. Monsignor Forni, secretary of the Papal Nunciature in Prague, is shown seated in the foreground during a Latin Mass in honor of St. Wenceslas.
