M. Paul Landowski, the sculptor, a member of the French Institute, required five years to complete this likeness of Christ in reinforced concrete. Distance between outstretched fingertips of world-embracing arms is 92 feet. Each pierced hand measured over 10 feet in length and weighs ten tons. The serene, well-poised head alone is 13½ feet high and scales 30 tons. Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (PA-NY-JOG-3C-6-C)
