Archbishop Joost de Blank of Capetown left for England where he will be one of the four Canons of Westminster. During his almost seven years of service in South Africa, Archbishop de Blank won fame and respect for his continuing campaign against the apartheid (racial segregation) policies of the government. His retirement was dictated by poor health; last year he was forced to go to England for treatment and convalescence. Capetown Anglicans will elect his successor in February.
