Text transcribed from caption: C-30363 PRIEST FOR THE DEAF NEWARK, N.J. -- Father John P. Hourihan, director of the Newark arch-diocese’s Mount Carmel Guild Center for the Deaf, conducts a Christmas service in sign language for some 600 deaf people from the See. The priest used sign language throughout the whole service, which included Benediction and a sermon. The service was held in connection with an interreligious Christmas party sponsored by the Guild at Newark’s St. Francis Xavier church.
