Pope outlines first encyclical.
Text transcribed from caption: PC-31380 POPE OUTLINES FIRST ENCYCLICAL CASTEL GANDOLFO, Italy -- Pope Paul VI is shown as he outlines the scope of his first encyclical in speaking to thousands of pilgrims from various parts of the world at a general audience. The pontiff disclosed that among questions discussed in his encyclical will be peace and the relationship between Christian and economic life. He said it also will deal with the "dialogue of the Church with the world of the non-Christian religions and with the choir of the Christian Churches still separated from the Catholic Church." The encyclical would not contain specific theological or doctrinal points, he said, and will be of an "exhortative" nature. It will be called Ecclesiam Suam (His Church) and be dated Aug. 6, the Feast of the Transfiguration of Christ. Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (U-8A-64-NAB)
