German pastors work on assembly line.
Text transcribed from caption: P-31583 GERMAN PASTORS WORK ON ASSEMBLY LINE COLOGNE, Germany -- The Rev. Martin Pirol (second from left) leaves an automobile factory at Cologne, Germany, with other assembly line workers at the end of a shift. Mr. Pirol and two other clergymen received permission from Church authorities to join the work force at the factory in order to gain first-hand knowledge of "the suffering of the people." At the end of several months they hailed the "fellowship" project as a success, saying the work experience had given them new understanding of their pastoral duties.
