Reuther addresses young Lutherans.
Text transcribed from caption: P-31459 REUTHER ADDRESSES YOUNG LUTHERANS DETROIT -- Detroit's huge Cobo Hall was filled to capacity for an address by Walter Reuther, president of the United Automobile Workers, to the convention of the Luther League of the American Lutheran Church. His appearance was protested in advance of the convention by a small faction that claimed Mr. Reuther "denies God." ALC youth officials defended the labor leader and the 12,000 young people gave him standing ovations at the start and finish of his talk. Mr. Reuther called on Luther Leaguers to demonstrate "hope, faith and love" in conflict with "forces of hatred." Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (AL-DM-8E-64-NBM)
