Text transcribed from caption: P-31016 PROTESTANT AID TO THE HOSPITALIZED (First of a Series of 4 Pictures) NEW YORK -- The Manhattan Division of the Protestant Council of the City of New York conducts a wide-scale program of aid and entertain-ment for hospital patients. A leading role in that program is played by Miss Nora Hellen, former U.S. and European concert singer, who heads the Hospital Music Service. Some 150 artists take part in the project. Here, Miss Hellen is shown as she arrives at Goldwater Hospital on New York’s Welfare Island, across the East River and not far from the U.N. headquarters building.
