Text transcribed from caption: #C-14870 GERMAN GIFT FOR HIROSHIMA PEACE CHURCH BONN, Germany -- Photo shows drawing of the front of a tabernacle presented by the people of Bonn to the Catholic memorial shrine dedicated to world peace in Hiroshima, Japan. The tabernacle's front shows Calvary where Jesus died, and a symbolic scene of the Hiroshima ruins. On the back of the sacred receptacle is the inscription "Pax Christi" (Peace of Christ), and this dedication in German and Japanese: "The victory of the one who rose from the dead is growing out of the ruins made by the hands of men. Bonn to Hiroshima 1953." The Peace Church is located eight blocks from the center of the atom bomb blast which wrecked the Japanese city.
