FAITHFUL GET NEW MASS BOOK

WORCESTER, Mass.--Bishop Bernard J. Flanagan of Worcester (right)

examines the first of the new Mass Books on their arrival at the

diocese where they were used by the faithful for the first time on

Pentecost Sunday. With the bishop are from left, Robert H. Fouhy,

Father Donald J. Gervais and Father Leo J. Barry, all members of

the Diocesan Liturgical Commission which arranged the Mass Book and

published it in conjunction with the Catholic Book Publishing Co.

of New York. The Mass Book, only one of its kind so far in the U.S.,

incorporates all recent liturgical changes and has been designed to

encourage laity participation in the Mass and other liturgical

services.
