TOP LAY LEADERS MEET
NEW YORK--National presidents and executive directors of major
U.S. Protestant, Catholic and Jewish laymen's organizations met
in New York to discuss mutual concerns and plan future contacts.
Another session with larger representation from each group will be
held in the near future, the officials announced. Seated, from
left to right, are: Seymour M. Liebowitz of Lawrence, N.Y., president
of the National Federation of Temple Brotherhoods; Jackie Robinson
of Stanford, Conn., former baseball star who is president of United
Church of Men of the National Council of Churches, and John F. Donnelly
of Grand Rapids, Mich., president of the National Council of Catholic
Men. Executive directors, standing, left to right, are: Sylvan Lebow
of New York, Temple Brotherhoods; Martin Work of Washington, D.C.,
Catholic Men, and Don L. Calame of Closter, N.J., United Church Men.
