JAPANESE PEACE TEAM IN U.S.
NEW YORK--Members of a Japanese "Team for Peace" meet the press
in New York on the first leg of a three-week mission to "pray
together, think together and, if possible, act together" with
American Christians on behalf of a peaceful settlement in Vietnam.
Dr. Isamu Omura (left), moderator of Japan's United Church of
Christ, answers questions as the four men and one woman appeared at
the Overseas Press Club. At right is Prof. Yoshiaki Iizaka of
Gakushuin University in Tokyo. The group was sent to the U.S. by
the Japan Christian Council for Peace in Vietnam.
