AT WORLD CATHOLIC PRESS CONGRESS

NEW YORK--Three principals at the Seventh World Congress of the

Catholic Press in New York are shown between sessions. Left to right

are: Father Emil Gabel, A.A., secretary general of the International

Union of the Catholic Press; Raimondo Manzini, editor of Osservatore

Romano, Vatican City daily, and president of the IUCP; and Msgr. Robert

G. Peters, editor of the Peoria (Ill.) Register, president of the

Catholic Press Association. Mr. Manzini holds earphones for the simul-

taneous translations of addresses. Sponsors of the congress, which

drew Catholic journalists from various parts of the world, were the

IUCP and the CPA. Its theme was "Truth in the Pursuit of Liberty."
