SENTENCED DEAN

JOHANNESBURG, S. Africa--The Rev. Gonville A. ffrench-Beytagh,

the Anglican Dean of Johannesburg who was recently convicted of

subversion under South Africa's Terrorism Act, works on some papers

in his home. Given a five-year sentence, the 59-year-old churchman

is currently free while he appeals the conviction.
