MOTHER OF U.S. HOSTAGE VISITS SON IN IRAN
TEHERAN, Iran--Mrs. Barbara Timm, of Oak Tree, Wis., shows the months of
strain as she is assisted by her husband, Kenneth, through a mass of
reporters on Apr. 21, after visiting her son, Kevin Hermining, a U.S.
hostage being held by militants at the American Embassy in Teheran.
Mrs. Timm, who spent 45 minutes with her 20-year-old son
in a meeting supervised by several of the Islamic captors, said
that "we never quit holding hands. There was lots of hugging, a lot of
touching, there were no tears. I kept telling him how strong he was,
and he kept telling me about how strong I was." A major part of their talk,
she noted, was about the Knights, a home town high school basketball team,
and her son's pleasure at learning the team had made it to the state
championships this year.
