First church built by Koreans, Sorai.
"A most historic picture. The first church building, built entirely by Koreans, in Korea. Dedicated by Dr. Underwood in 1895. A Christian congregation had been worshipping in Sorai village before the first Presbyterian missionaries set foot in Korea (Dr. Horace Allen) in 1884. This congregation was composed of smugglers who had heard the gospel from missionaries in Chefoo, China and Manchuria. RH Baird, Apr. '73."
