Volleyball encourages the growth of the idea of teamwork - almost a new idea
to the Arab, who is traditionally one of the most rugged of individualists.

Description:
Jibrail Rurual Fellowship Center, Tripoli. Assistant to Mr. Alter developing
the boys' program is Mr. Munir Khoury, who returned last fall from two years'
special study in American on Board scholarship to equip him for this work.
Here he explains the good qualities of two superior type rabbits. Since there
are still no prepared quarters for the rabbits on school grounds, Munir keeps
them in a pen at his home in the village. Love for rural life and a
conviction of the need for raising the standard of his own area has made him
turn down many more attractive jobs elsewhere to throw his own lot with the
work of Mr. and Mrs. [Samuel Neale and Edith Maria] Alter.

Description:
Jibrail Rural Fellowship Center, Tripoli. Mr. and Mrs. Alter are developing
their new school on the western slope of the valley opposite the old village.
Girls bring part of their food supplies and small fees which enable them to
"live in" as resident students. All work is done by the girls themselves to
give them practical training in home-making. From the old village is but a
brief ten minute walk to their new school buildings.
