Description:
Thousands of Portland residents joined commissioners for a concert by the
Philadelphia Orchestra, conducted by Eugene Ormandy. Orchestra was en route
home from a tour of Japan. Audience responded to concert with standing

Description:
Orchestra playing. A treat to be long-remembered by those in attendance was
an evening of exciting music by the Philadelphia Orchestra, under the baton
of its brilliant conductor, Eugene Ormandy. And so, the 179th General
Assembly proved to be, like its predecessors, a mixture of long hours, hard
work, stimulating debate, interesting experiences and pleasant memories.
