- Text transcribed from caption: C-30526 NUN WHO ELUDED TERRORISTS SAFE IN BELGIUM BRUSSELS, Belgium -- Safe in her homeland, a nun who escaped the terrorists who attacked Catholic and Protestant missions in Kwilu Province of the Congo is greeted at Brussels airport by Sisters and relatives. - Text transcribed from caption: PC-31863 BELGIAN ROYALTY COMFORTS NUN BRUSSELS -- Sister Anne Marie Merkens, rescued from Congolese rebels, is comforted by Belgian King Baudouin and Queen Fabiola on arrival at the Brussels airport. The Catholic nun was among many whites rescued from the hands of rebels in Stanleyville by Belgian paratroops. Sister Anne Marie told the Associated Press that she and other nuns had been forced by the rebels to parade down a street in Basoto, near Stanleyville. - Text transcribed from caption: C-30598 IN MEMORY OF BELGIAN MARTYRED PRIESTS NEW YORK -- Francis Cardinal Spellman, Archbishop of New York, speaks to bereaved members of the Oblates of Mary at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Three Belgian priests of the order were slain at Kwilu Province in the Congo recently when anti-government guerillas attacked Christian missions.
