- Text transcribed from caption: CHINESE CARDINAL RIGHT AT HOME #c-3515 CHICAGO -- Thomas Cardinal Tien of China uses the chopsticks of his native land at a dinner given in his honor here by the On Leong Chinese Merchants Association. He was presented with a purse of $1,000 by Msgr. Joseph B. Lux for “whatever mission work the cardinal desires in China.” It was the gift of the Catholic Church Extension Society.
