- Kim Davis (right), a student at the Convent of the Sacred Heart High School, drops her pledge into a basket as more than $400 in pledges for aid to Pakistani refugees in India is presented to officials of Americans for Children's Relief at the United Nations Chapel in New York. Receiving the pledges are, from left: Father James Dockery, actor Eli Wallach, ACR Executive Director Candice Jordan, Rep. Edward Koch (D.-N.Y.) and ACR board member Barbara Martinez. Mr. Wallach and Rep. Koch are sponsors of the funding agency.

- Description
- The Rev. Angel Torres, a Pentecostal faith healer from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, lays his hands on a woman during an ecumenical faith healing service at the Roman Catholic Mount Manresa Jesuit Retreat House on Staten Island. Assisting Mr. Torres is Dr. George Kroeger of the U.S. Public Health Hospital on Staten Island. Catholic and Protestant Pentecostal groups attended the service, sponsored by the retreat house and the Mariners Harbor (Pentecostal) Tabernacle. Dr. Kroeger is a member of that congregation.

- Description
- Eleven Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish clergymen joined in leading an interreligious Thanksgiving service at a Reform Synagogue in New York City. The worship, held at Stephen Wise Free Synagogue on Manhattan's Upper West Side, featured readings from the Old Testament, Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Walt Whitman and contemporary black poet Langston Hughes. Those participating included, left to right, the Rev. Richard Symes, Good Shepherd-Faith Presbyterian church; Rabbi Edward Kiev, Jewish Institute of Religion-Hebrew Union College; the Rev. Joseph M. Zorawick, St. Stephen's Episcopal church; Rabbi Gunter Hirschberg, Congregation Rodeph Sholom; Dr. Lawrence Durgin, Broadway United Church of Christ; Rabbi Edward Klein, of the host synagogue; Nick Hudston, a guitarist; Rabbi James H. Perman, also of the Stephen Wise Synagogue; Father Joseph Gallagher, Church of St. Paul the Apostle; the Rev. Sharon Ringe, Broadway United Church of Christ; Msgr. Thomas Heneghan, Church of the Blessed Sacrament, and Rabbi Bernard Cohn, Congregation Habonim.
