- Text transcribed from caption: S-3983 BROOKLYN PARADE MARKS SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Ninety-thousand Brooklyn children and adults marched in 30 parades throughout the borough in celebrations marking the 130th anniversary of the Brooklyn Sunday School Union. The first parade was held in 1829. This float, one of the many in the different parades, carries the theme of the celebration, Christ, Our Salvation. Cooperating bodies have been the Brooklyn Council for Social Planning, the Brooklyn Church and Mission Federation, the New York City Mission Society, and Protestant Episcopal, Congregational, Presbyterian, Baptist and Methodist groups.
