- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: C-31828 PARTICIPATION TECHNY, Ill. -- Members of the Catholic Students’ Mission Crusade are shown at the Divine Word Seminary, Techny, Ill., where they participated in Manus Christi (Hands of Christ) Day. The program was designed to teach students how to become personally involved in the application of the Gospels to their school and community. At top left, Sister Mary St. Mark, B.V.M., and students enjoy an Agape meal of thanksgiving after Mass. At top right, John Lehocky, a high school student, reads the Epistle in English in a “Mass of participation.” Below, a central table holds some of the food gifts which each participant brought for the Agape. At the Offertory, several students in procession carried food to this table placed in front of the altar. During the Mass, the student congregation joined in singing hymns based on Negro spirituals.
