- Description

They are the first two motor churches in the long history of St. George and St. Paul. Each of the “churches on wheels” will carry its own minister, beside the man at the wheel. The seating capacity of the “motor church” is twelve. In most cases however, the services will be held from the vehicle. Credit Line Should Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (cob)

- Title
- St. Paul's Cathedral.
- Description
- Text transcribed from caption: #S-4316 ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL LONDON -- St. Paul’s Cathedral, the “trade mark of London,” is considered the finest example of Renaissance architecture in England. Although damaged during the war, it stands as a symbol of England’s great trials. Most of the buildings in the immediate area were completely destroyed during the bombing of the City of London. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren, the first stone for St. Paul’s was laid in 1675. The choir was opened for use in 1697, and the last stone was set in 1710. It replaces an earlier church which was destroyed in the Great Fire of London. Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (JGM-MES-8D-6-W-A-E)
