ABORTION: PRO

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Pro-abortion demonstrators mass at the west front

of the Capitol Building (top) in Washington, D.C. Below, women carry

a banner as they march down Pennsylvania Avenue to the rally.

About 2,500 attended the demonstration urging repeal of laws pro

hibiting abortions. The rally's organizers had hoped for 10,000. At

the same time, an anti-abortion rally was held on the other side of

the Capitol.
