Text transcribed from caption: C-3926 LIFE IN A CAPUCHIN MONASTERY [1] STAUNTON, Va. -- The rapid pace of the Twentieth Century gives way to study, mediation, prayer and work at Our Lady of Angels Capuchin monastery here. The basis of living is reduced to its essentials, as shown in this photo of the plainly-set table at meal time. Seating at long wooden tables is arranged by rank. Much modern equipment has been installed in the monastery and its grounds. Cells are equipped with hot and cold water, and tilling of the soil is done by power-driven plows.
