Text transcribed from caption: RELIGIOUS LEADERS READ TRUMAN STATEMENT #S-1306 NEW YORK -- Former New York Supreme Court Judge Lewis L. Fawcett (right) is an interested onlooker as Dr. Hachiro Yuasa of Japan (left) and Dr. Samuel Shin of Korea read the summons issued by President Truman and the heads of six foreign countries calling for increased religious education to lay the foundations for peace. The statement was issued in conjunction with the opening of the drive by the World’s Sunday School Association to obtain $500,000 for its work in 52 foreign countries.
