Church group opposes liquor law changes.
Text transcribed from caption: P-30661 CHURCH GROUP OPPOSES LIQUOR LAW CHANGES ALBANY, N.Y. -- Gov. Nelson Rockefeller addresses a delegation from the New York State Council of Churches which opposed his proposal to relax the state's liquor laws. The interdenominational church council maintains that adoption of the administration's plan would be an "act of irresponsible government." The recommendations were made by a Moreland Act Commission and endorsed by Gov. Rockefeller. They include lowering of liquor prices through competition and elimination of the requirement that bars and taverns serve food. Another proposal would permit granting new licenses to increase the number of package liquor stores. Credit Must Read: RELIGIOUS NEWS SERVICE PHOTO (U-2D-64-NAB)
